Gum infection is one of the most common dental conditions being experienced by most individuals and also the primary cause of tooth loss. Gum infection can be successfully prevented by having the right information, how it occurs and what contributes to its development. Oftentimes, gum infection and gum disease is caused by poor oral hygiene. Poor oral hygiene invites bacteria to build up inside the mouth. Pregnant women are also at risk of gum infection, increase in hormonal level causes the gum to be inflamed and prone to gum infection.
To be prevented from gum infection, proper oral care must be observed especially with pregnant women, combined with the avoidance of alcohol and smoking. Regular dental visits should be observed for your dentist can detect, diagnose and treat gum infection early.
